Last week Banksy sold soup painting at Bonhams

A supermarket soup painted by Bristol-born graffiti artist Banksy topped the bill at an urban art sale that looked to have been hit by the credit crunch.

The street painter's oil canvas, entitled Tesco Value Tomato Soup, was sold at auction for £117,600 – smashing its £80,000 estimate.

It was the most expensive item at the Bonhams' sale in London on October 23, and while other Banksy pieces were also sold nearly a third of the auction's items failed to find a buyer. A total of 74 of the 122 lots were sold.

Trama - a performing arts festival in Oporto

The Web Festival of Performing Arts/Trama Festival de Artes Performativas will take place on October 24, 25, and 26. This year’s edition will feature a greater number of projects, partnerships and venues, in events brought to Porto once more by initiative of the Serralves Foundation, brrr_ Live Art, Lado B Producers, and Matéria Prima.

In this Web the crossing threads are renewed and structured as a route that includes venues such as Serralves, Culturgest, ESMAE/IPP, Fábrica da Rua da Alegria, FBAUP, Hotel D. Henrique, Loja da Pensão Monumental, Maus Hábitos, Mosteiro São Bento da Vitória and Passos Manuel. The crossings will also be disciplinary, comprising different associations of music, dance live art, theatre, improvisation, cinema and interventions.

This year’s Web is under the sign of fabulation and the collective, claiming a place between fiction and reality, between the evoking of imaginaries and the sublimation of the “here and now”.

Rocket Man - meet Yves Rossy

The music used in this video is such a cliché - it's Rocket Man by Elton John, but it is the most adequate for it. The video introduces Yves Rossy the swiss guy who became first person in the world to fly with wings under rocket power.
